Anyone else learn cursive in school? I’m not sure they still teach it, but I’m definitely of the generation that learned it and then never really had an applicable use for it. Well… until now I guess. Great to know all that cursive prep was readying me to create a niche adaptation of a 150+ year old literature, hahahah.
Regarding that, I have an interesting anecdote to share. I work two jobs, right? At my day job, I use my left hand for everything, so that my right remains rested and ready to draw for my second job animating (and drawing this comic). During my shift, I also have to sign my name a whole bunch while filling out paperwork, and I’ve noticed my signature actually does slant the opposite way when I use that hand, similar to how book!Hyde’s signature is described, and how I chose to depict his writing on this page. So… although book!Hyde is never explicitly described as writing with Jekyll’s nondominant hand, this popular adaptational canon seems to have logic to it!
