The odd word Lucy uses there, catever, means strange or bad. It’s proper slang from the time that I couldn’t resist including.

Writing in this period is definitely interesting, especially with comic dialogue. I do love the wordy, endless rambling of literature from this era, but in a comic where word economy matters a lot, its rather hard to keep. I like to try to imbue the ~vibes~ of it via sentence structure and word choice, but it ain’t a hard science. Plus, the occasional anachronism adds to the fun!
