This cover is based on antique medical ads! Specifically, I looked at a lot of the images from this link, pictured below:

All these posters advertise such strange items. Liver salt, lung tonic, capsules that promise to create “pure rich red blood?” I wonder if any of these have an actual medical merit. Jekyll’s tincture truly fits right in.

I also worked in a little flower symbolism– orange roses that represent duality and passion, and baby’s breath to symbolize purity and new beginnings.
