I love drawing Enfield & Utterson in the warm lighting of the nighttime windows. Why is everyone in London up lighting candles at like 3am or whatever? Don’t worry about it. Because I want the scene to look pretty <3

Speaking of lighting, I’ve FINALLY figured out coloring! For the curious, here’s the process: I plunk down some base colors, then an overlay layer that pushes those closer to the color scheme, an overlay layer with airbrush effects that lighten/darken characters to draw your eye, a multiply layer with basic cel shading, an overlay layer with a few small cel highlights, and sometimes another layer for potion rim lighting/other effects. That’s 6 layers! Much more manageable than 14, haha.
