Some notes on Jekyll’s mindset– imagine you are pitching your life’s work, and someone very publicly shatters the fragile acceptance you have managed to draw out of the skeptical crowd. How are you to proceed? Answer: discredit the interrupter as much as possible. Plant seeds of doubt in the audience’s mind so that anything he said actually might even be a point in your favor– after all, who would trust such a shady individual? Especially when there’s something about his face that already sends the shivers down your spine…
