Crazy life update: a tornado went over my house!!! This feels insane to say even now. I am very lucky it was a pretty weak tornado, and we got off basically scot-free with only a tree branch knocked over. The rest of the neighborhood is kinda crazy though, as there’s a lot more damage to trees/roofs/etc. It’s very strange to see familiar sights upended like that. (And man, does something like that make you realize you need to back up your files…)

And my other news of the week, I impulsively went to see the circus?? I was helping a friend move and after our group got totally distracted by the mysterious circus tent that happened to pop up nearby, we decided to get tickets as a post-work treat. I’m gonna be honest, I had no idea what to expect. All my knowledge of the circus comes from horror media, with the setting invariably dated back to times where animal cruelty laws weren’t really a thing. Well, I can now report that today’s circus involves a big screen playing visuals like fancy concerts, lots of human stunts that made me SO anxious, motorcycles, and a clown that said 6-7 and incorporated among us sound effects into his routine. And the effect of attending one such circus? The group’s current bit turning into pretending the clown followed everyone home because we didn’t laugh enough.
