Ah, glowing sci-fi potions, my favorite mad scientist staple... as unrealistic as they are, they make for excellent atmospheric lighting.

I, like many others into Jekyll & Hyde, have made a habit of collecting Strange Case copies. I find the book is the exact level of rarity that makes for an excellent hunt in charity shops– decent enough chance that someone donated it after an English project, but still a fairly rare find. (Note: it may just be my area, but there are copies upon copies of The Great Gatsby in my local thrift stores. Seriously, is this just taught a ton or what?) Anyway, I found myself in a Half Price Books the other day and went searching. I thought it would be just as rare, but turns out the last time I had checked this store I hadn’t realized the Strange Case copies were in a gothic literature-specific section. They had about nine unique copies of the story, which... kinda takes the fun out of it, that's way too many. And as much as I'd like to have the copy whose foreword quoted The Portrait of Dorian Gray and William Wilson, two stories that share the same dark-side-of-the-self DNA, or the copy that was a double feature ft. Frankenstein (seriously, these two stories somehow always end up together), I ended up just picking a single copy, with the cover I liked best. And that brings my collection up to five~
