I am pleased to announce What Resides in the Cheval Glass officially has its own site! (you are here!) I've been meaning to set this up so as to share this comic with non-tumblr users. I'll also admit the navigation over there is much smoother than on Tumblr. It took me a while to upload the 60+ archived pages, but we did it!!

As an incentive to use the site, pages will update an hour early at 9:00AM CST/CDT over there! Pages will continue to be uploaded on Tumblr at the regular 10:00 time.

Last weekend, I attended a play called Static-Head. I was initially attracted to the listing because the synopsis reminded me of Be More Chill, and I would say there was definitely similar vibes, with two different robot-AI characters and emergent technology that hooks up to your senses. It was a great show! I knew I was in for a treat when they handed us our playbills and they had an entirely in-character ad for the fictional university in the show on the front. The whole thing had a lot of unfiction vibes, with experimental dreamlike sequences and a multimedia feel.

The show is a critique on AI and social media, and they had this set with these phone-like vertical screens they could move around. At one point, they project pre-recorded shorts video on the screen, featuring the actors in a sort of nightmare scenario in which their consciousnesses are put into a variety of tired shorts tropes after they sort of get trapped in the app. I thought that was quite fun.
